Abstract
The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) is an indicator of the latest economic developments produced by the Central Bureau of Statistics through the Tendency Survey of Consumers (STK). ITK is a composite index of household perception about consumer economic condition and consumption behavior to the economic situation in the current quarter and the forecast in the coming quarter. STK began in the first quarter of 2011 in Jawa Barat with a sample of 1,890 households. Consumer Economic Condition Quarter I- 2011 Index of Consumer Tendency (ITK) in Jawa Barat in the first quarter of 2011 amounted to 101.12, meaning that consumer economic conditions in the first quarter increased from the previous quarter. Improved consumer economic condition was driven primarily by increased household incomes. The consumption index in Q1 / 2011 for the income group of Rp 2 million and above was higher than in the income group of less than Rp 2 million. The improvement in consumer economic condition in Q1 / 2011 was mainly driven by income groups of Rp 2 million and above. Consumer Expectation for Q1 / 2011 The value of ITK in Jawa Barat in the second quarter of 2011 is estimated at 106.61, meaning that consumer economic condition is expected to improve. The level of consumer optimism is estimated to be higher than the first quarter of 2011 (ITK value of 101.12.
