Economic Growth of Jawa Barat in Quarter IV/2008

Entering the fourth quarter of 2008, the Economic Growth Rate (LPE) of Jawa barat as measured by the increase of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the previous quarter (qtq) was minus 0.49 percent. The highest growth was achieved by the LGA sector by 2.94 percent, followed by the manufacturing sector by 2.39 percent, and third position with 1.06 percent growth occupied by services sector, while the lowest growth was in the agricultural sector at minus 10 , 57 percent. 􀀻 Year on year (yoy), that is, when compared to the fourth quarter of 2007, GDP growth in the fourth quarter of 2008 reached 4.50 percent. The highest growth of yoy was attained by the development sector by 19.19 percent, while the lowest growth was in the agricultural sector at minus 11.22 percent.􀀻 LPE without oil and gas in the fourth quarter of 2008 reached minus 0.51 percent, lower than the overall GDP growth which reached minus 0.49 percent. 􀀻 Further growth in the real sector (all sectors except sub-sectors of banks and sub-sector of non-bank financial institutions) during Q4 / 2008 by qtq growth rate reached minus 0.45 percent. Experienced a decrease of 4.89 points when compared to the previous quarter, while when viewed in yoy grew by 4.45 percent.
