Abstract

The number of poor people (population below the Poverty Line) in Jawa Barat in September 2011 amounted to 4,650,810 people (10.57 percent). Compared to March 2011 which amounted to 4,648,630 people (10.65 percent), the number of poor people in September 2011 increased by 2,180 people (0.05 percent). The number of poor people in September 2011 for urban areas is 2,628,350 people (9.09 percent of the total urban population) while in rural areas 2,022,450 people (13.39 percent). Jawa Barat poverty line in September 2011 amounted to Rp. 226.097, - or an increase of 2.73 percent compared to the March 2011 poverty line (Rp 220,098, -).
