Abstract
The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) is an indicator of the latest economic developments produced by the Central Bureau of Statistics through the Tendency Survey of Consumers (STK). ITK is a composite index of household perceptions regarding consumer economic conditions and consumption behavior on the economic situation in the current quarter and forecasts for the coming quarter. STK began in the first quarter of 2011 with a total sample of 1,890 households spread across 17 districts / cities, while in 2012 the number of samples increased to 2560 samples spread across 26 districts / cities. The Tendency Index of Consumers (ITK) in Jawa Barat in the first quarter of 2011 amounted to 106.14, which means the economic condition of consumers in the first quarter was better than the previous quarter. But the level of consumer optimism is lower when compared to the fourth quarter of 2011 (ITK value of 108.07).
