Abstract
The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) is an indicator of the latest economic developments produced by the Central Bureau of Statistics through the Tendency Survey of Consumers (STK). ITK is a composite index of household perception regarding consumer economic condition and consumption behavior to economic situation in quarterly and quarterly estimate upcoming. STK began to be conducted in Jawa Barat in 2011 with the number of samples every quarter as many as 2,560 households. The Tendency Index of Consumers (ITK) in Jawa Barat in quarter III-2013 amounted to 113.53 means that consumer economic conditions in the third quarter of 2013 increased from the previous quarter. Similarly, the level of consumer optimism is also higher when compared with the second quarter of 2013 (ITK value of 108.19). Improved consumer economic conditions are driven by increased household incomes. In addition, the improvement in the economic condition of consumers in quarter III-2013 is also caused by the lack of influence of inflation on consumption (index value of 112.14). The value of ITK in Jawa Barat in the fourth quarter of 2013 is estimated at 107.87, meaning that consumer economic condition is expected to improve. With the level of consumer optimism is estimated lower than the third quarter of 2013.
