Forecast Figures I/2010 Paddy Production, Maize & Soybean in Jawa Barat Province

Jawa Barat Province rice production in 2009 reached 11,283,441 tons of GKG equivalent to 7,131,135ton of rice or an increase of 11.59 percent compared to 2008. Increased rice production in 2009 due to a productivity increase of 3.26 percent of 56.06 quintal per hectare in 2008 to 57.89 quintals per hectare in 2009 and an increase in harvested area by 8.07 percent from 1,803,628 hectares in 2008 to 1,949,239 hectares in 2009. While according to Forecast I, in 2010 rice production in Jawa Barat is expected to reach 10,933,982 tonnes of GKG or equivalent to 6,910,277 tons of rice or decreased by -3.10 percentage points in 2009. The decline in rice production forecast in 2010 was due to a decrease in harvested area by -2.64 percent and a decrease in productivity for -0, 48 percent if compared to 2009. Corn production in Jawa Barat in 2009 reached 784,613 tons or increased by 22.63 percent compared to 2008. Peningkata n is due to increase in harvested area and productivity respectively 14,57 percent and 7,12 percent respectively.
