Forecast Figure I 2009 And Preliminary Figures 2008 Production of Paddy, Maize & Soybeans in Jawa Barat Province

Jawa barat Province rice production in 2008 reached 10,108,052 tons of GKG equivalent to 6,388,289 tons of rice or increased by 1.96 percent compared to 2007. Increased rice production in 2008 due to an increase in productivity of 3.45 percent ie from 54.20 quintal per hectare in 2007 to 56.07 quintals per hectare in 2008 although the harvest area decreased by 26.391 hectares or decreased by 1.44 percent compared to 2007. • While according to Forecast Score I, in 2009 rice production in Java The West is expected to reach 10,231,796 tonnes of GKG or equivalent to 6,466,496 tonnes of rice or an increase of 1.22 percent compared to 2008. The increase in rice production forecast in 2009 is due to an increase in forecast of harvested area by 1.12 percent and increase in productivity forecast by 0.10 percent if compared to 2008. • Corn production in Jawa barat in 2008 reached 640,647 tons or increased by 10.93 percent compared to in 2007. This increase is due to harvested area and productivity increased by 4.94 percent and 5.71 percent, respectively.
