Abstract

Jawa barat Province's rice production in 2008 reached 10,111,069 ton GKG equivalent to 6,390,195 tons of rice or increased by 1.99 percent compared to 2007. Increased rice production in 2008 due to an increase in productivity of 3.45 percent ie from 54.20 quintal per hectare in 2007 to 56.06 quintals per hectare in 2008 although the harvest area decreased by 25,457 hectares or decreased by 1.39 percent compared to 2007 While according to Forecast II figures, in 2009 rice production in Jawa barat was estimated will reach 10,620,613 tons of GKG or equivalent to 6,712,228 tons of rice or increase by 5.04persen compared to 2008. The increase in rice production forecast in 2009 is due to an increase in forecast of harvested area of 3.86 percent and an increase in productivity forecast of 1, 10 percent if compared to 2008.􀀻 Corn production in Jawa barat in 2008 reached 639,822 tons or increased by 10.79 percent compared in 2007. This increase occurred because the area of harvests and productivity rose by respectively 4.94 percent, and 5.58 percent.
